About Your Instructor

Meagan Karnes has an MBA from San Diego State University. Initially, she worked in consulting, helping start-up biotech companies build their businesses and secure financing. During her career, her passion for dogs was ignited and she left the biotech world to pursue a career in dog training. Since, she has built several successful businesses and has worked with large corporations within the pet care field. 

Notable accomplishments include: 

• Founder of the Largest Pet Sitting company in San Diego County with 12 independent pet sitters servicing over 800 clients monthly (2000)
• Featured in the San Diego Business Journal for Excellence in business
• Founder and Owner of The Collared Scholar Dog Training, which opened 3 locations and served hundreds of clients monthly before moving to the online space. The company now services thousands of clients in their online courses each month, with hundreds of thousands of blog views annually. 
• Founder of several multi-6 figure businesses within the pet care sector, both online and brick and mortar
